Google Pixel 9a has finally arrived. The phones come at a starting price of Rs 49,999 and for the price, it offers improved performance with the Tensor G4 chipset, improved camera performance and even a battery has gone bigger over its predecessor. The big question here is whether should you buy the Google Pixel 9a right now, or wait for the Google Pixel 10 which is expected to arrive later this year with multiple improvements over the outgoing models – the Pixel 9 series.

Leaks and rumours around the Google Pixel 10 series have already started surfacing on the internet and from all of them, we’ve picked the top 5 improvements that the upcoming Pixel phones are set to offer.

Tensor G5 and AI capabilities

Google has always made AI a big deal with its Pixel phones. The Pixel 10 series won’t be any different. However, Google is expected to build the rumoured Tensor G5 chip from TSMC and not Samsung. This move is expected to improve performance, efficiency, and thermal management. The Pixel 10 will also introduce new AI-powered features, including Pixel Sense, which integrates Google apps for proactive assistance. The device is also rumoured to support AI-powered video editing and on-device AI models for improved photo and video processing.

Camera and design changes

Leaked renders suggest that the Pixel 10 series will retain a similar design to the Pixel 9, with minor refinements. However, the base Pixel 10 model is expected to feature a triple-camera setup for the first time, potentially including a periscope zoom lens. The Pro and Pro XL models may retain the existing setup but benefit from improved software-based enhancements.

Specifications and display

The Pixel 10 series will likely continue with three models—Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL—along with a rumoured Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The displays are expected to remain similar in size to the Pixel 9 lineup, with OLED panels and high refresh rates. The Tensor G5’s improved TPU is expected to enhance AI-driven tasks like real-time image processing and voice-to-text accuracy.

Expected pricing

While there are no confirmed pricing details, Google could stick to its 2024 pricing model, with the base Pixel 10 starting around $799 and the Pro models priced higher.

Faster charging and battery life improvements

Google is expected to improve charging speeds and battery efficiency in the Pixel 10 series. The Tensor G5’s 3nm architecture could help reduce power consumption, extending battery life. Faster wired and wireless charging may also be introduced with Pixel 10 smartphones.
