Xiaomi has revealed key specifications of the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 ahead of its official launch in China on January 29. The company has confirmed details related to the display, processor, battery, charging capabilities, and build, offering a clearer picture of where the new Redmi smartphone is positioned. The Redmi Turbo 5 will be launched alongside the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, Redmi Buds 8 Pro, and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition.

Display and design details

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 will feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 2K resolution. The panel is sourced from Samsung and uses the M10 OLED material. The display will include Xiaomi’s eye protection features and a high-brightness mode designed to improve outdoor visibility. According to the company, the screen supports peak brightness levels of up to 3,500 nits.

In terms of design, the Redmi Turbo 5 will come with a metal middle frame and a 2.5D glass back panel. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the phone will carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. The smartphone will be offered in at least two colour options, including orange and silver.

The Redmi Turbo 5 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. To manage sustained performance, Xiaomi has introduced what it calls a “3D Ice-Sealed Circulation Cooling Pump.” The company claims this cooling system offers significantly improved heat dissipation compared to traditional vapour chamber solutions, particularly during extended gaming sessions or heavy workloads.

The higher-end Redmi Turbo 5 Max will use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, though both models will share similar display specifications.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 will pack a 7,560mAh battery. The handset will support 100W wired fast charging, 27W wired reverse charging, and programmable power supply support. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will be included for biometric authentication.

The Redmi Turbo 5 series will officially launch in China on January 29 at 7pm local time. Details regarding pricing and availability in other markets have not been announced so far.
