Tim Cook says Visual Intelligence is the most used Apple Intelligence feature on iPhones
Apple CEO Tim Cook has shared a small but meaningful insight into how people are using Apple Intelligence on their iPhones. During Apple’s fiscal Q1 2026 earnings call, Cook said that most users with supported iPhones are already using Apple Intelligence features. He also pointed to one feature that seems to be especially popular.
As usual, Cook began the earnings call by talking about how Apple’s main products are doing. This included the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, retail stores, and services. In recent quarters, Apple Intelligence has also become part of this opening update. While Apple did not share exact numbers, Cook said usage is strong.
“During the quarter, we were excited to see that the majority of users on enabled iPhones are actively using Apple Intelligence,” he said.
Apple did not explain how many iPhones support Apple Intelligence, so it is hard to know how big this group really is. The company also did not clearly say what it means by “actively using” these features. Cook briefly mentioned tools like Writing Tools and Clean Up, but he did not say how often people use them or in what situations.
However, Cook was very clear about one feature that users seem to like the most. He said Visual Intelligence is one of the most popular Apple Intelligence features on the iPhone.
According to Cook, Visual Intelligence helps users understand and act on what they see on their phone screens. It makes it easier to search for information, take quick actions, and get answers while using different apps. In simple terms, it helps people do more with what is already on their screen, without extra steps.
Cook also spoke about another feature called Live Translation. He said Apple has heard strong stories from users about how this feature is helping them talk to others in different languages. While he did not share specific examples, he made it clear that this feature is making a real difference for people who need it.
During the same call, Cook mentioned that Apple now has more than 2.5 billion active devices around the world. However, he did not connect this number directly to Apple Intelligence usage.
Overall, Apple is still keeping details limited. But from Cook’s comments, it is clear that Visual Intelligence stands out as the feature Apple believes users find most useful on their iPhones right now.
