Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 04 update brings significant changes to the Verdansk map, game modes, weapons, and overall gameplay experience. The update introduces a major new point of interest, gameplay adjustments, and the return of limited-time modes.

The biggest map change is the addition of The Overlook, a towering skyscraper that replaces Burger Town, SKN Comm Tower, and old tenement blocks in Downtown Verdansk. This area includes interactable cranes for vertical traversal and horizontal ziplines for rooftop navigation. High-Value Loot Zones have been updated to include Superstore, Quarry, and The Overlook. Buy Stations have also been redistributed and increased to 49 locations.

Season 04 reintroduces Clash, the 52v52 Team Deathmatch mode, now enhanced with a Search & Destroy contract and unique power-ups. The World Series of Warzone (WSOW) Limited-Time Mode returns for a three-week run. In a key experiment, core Battle Royale Solos are replaced by Battle Royale Casual Solos, which mixes human players and bots.

A fresh season of Ranked Play starts with new rewards across placement milestones. Launchers, the Tracker perk, and Body Shield are now restricted. Weapon balancing efforts improve long-range viability for LMGs, enhance SMG utility, and boost AR bullet velocity. Tactical gear like Flash and Concussion Grenades are buffed. The Bandolier Wildcard has been removed.

Three new weapons debut this season:

LC10 SMG and FFAR 1 AR via the Battle Pass

Essex Model 07 Marksman Rifle as an event reward

New attachments include conversion kits for a burst-fire Stryder .22 and full-auto SVD.

Gameplay tweaks

Players now begin the Gulag with one armor plate. Enemies coughing in gas appear on the tac map. Ground loot distribution now slightly favors SMGs.

Enhancements include a revised Death Recap widget, updated equipment icons, and bug fixes for killstreaks, challenges, and weapon restrictions.
