Astro Bot gets five new levels

Astro Bot, winner of The Game Award for Game of the Year 2024, has got a month-long free content update that adds five new levels, developer Team Asobi announced. Each Astro Bot level will have a new Special Bot.

The Astro Bot update will be rolled out weekly till March 13, 2025. As per Team Asobi, the new Astro Bot update features harder levels compared to the Winter Wonder update.

“Each level comes with a brand-new Special Bot to rescue and, once that’s done, can be replayed in Time Attack mode with online rankings. To access these, you will need to have completed the main game”, Team Asobi said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

The five new Astro Bot levels are Tick-Tock Shock, Thrust or Bust, Cock-A-Doodle-Doom, Hard to Bear and Armored Hardcore. They will appear every week as follows:

• February 13: Tick-Tock Shock
• February 20: Thrust or Bust
• February 27: Cock-A-Doodle-Doom
• March 6: Hard to Bear
• March 13: Armored Hardcore

“All Astro Bot updates from February 13 to March 13 will be available every Thursday at 6:00am PT, 2:00pm GMT, and 10:00pm JST”, Team Asobi said in the post.

In addition to the new Astro Bot levels, PS5 Pro owners are also getting an improved version of Astro Bot with a “constant best resolution while still running at 60 frames per second”, the developer claimed.

The 2024 platformer Astro Bot also won Game of the Year and four other awards at the 28th annual D.I.C.E. awards. These include D.I.C.E awards for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design and Family Game of the Year.
