Earlier this week, Honor Power 2 was launched in China by the smartphone maker. The new handset will be the first smartphone to be powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite SoC and carries a dual rear camera unit, headlined by a 50MP main sensor. However, its biggest highlight is the inclusion of a 10,080mAh battery, making it the second mobile phone to boast a battery of more than 10,000mAh after the company’s own HONOR WIN series phones.
Honor Power 2: Price, availability
The Honor Power 2 has a starting price of CNY 2,699 (around Rs 35,000) in China for the base variant with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the other variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage is priced at CNY 2,999 (around Rs 39,000). The smartphone will go on sale in China on January 9 via the Honor online store. It is available in Phantom Black, Snowfield White, and Rising Sun Orange colour shades.
Honor Power 2: Specifications, features
The Honor Power 2 sports a 6.79-inch Full HD+AMOLED display with up to 120Hz of refresh rate and support for 1.07 billion colours, and HDR content. An octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset powers this smartphone, which is claimed to deliver a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz and is packed with the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. It is also the company's first phone with its proprietary C1+ network chip. For optics, the Honor Power 2 carries a dual rear camera setup, with a 50MP primary shooter and a 5MP ultrawide camera.
The main highlight of the phone is the inclusion of a huge, 10080mAh fourth-generation silicon-carbon battery with six-year durability. Even with such a huge battery, it weighs just 216 grams and has a thickness of 7.98mm. The phone supports 80W fast charging and also comes with 27W reverse charging.
