Skincare has become a flex in a world driven by social media trends, with many encouraging a 10-step routine that seems impossible to follow. If you are disheartened, don’t be. Because Kareena Kapoor’s nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar has something else to say.

In her new video on Instagram, Rujuta shared a simple 4-step routine that is easy to follow and certain to bring you results. “Here’s a four-step skincare routine that I follow, and I think you can do it too. It’s easy, it’s inexpensive, and it’s your ghar ka stuff.”

Hydration is key

For skin, drinking a lot of water works like magic. It flushes toxins, making your skin look fresh, plump, and glowing. “I drink a lot of water throughout the day. I don’t want to get thirsty. I drink because I keep water accessible. I can see it, so I drink it.” This is a useful hack you’d love to follow.

Early bedtime

Early bedtime is sure to trump all your expensive serums and creams. A dedicated bedtime helps the body repair and regenerate cells, boosts collagen, and reduces dark circles and puffiness. Sharing what she does, Rujuta said, “I make sure that I go to bed between 9.30 and 10 pm on most nights of the year, unless I’m travelling, there’s an emergency, or someone’s fallen sick.”

Regular exercise

The best way to keep your skin glowing and healthy is by being active and moving your body. Studies link regular exercise to increased blood flow to the skin, elevated skin temperature, and improved skin moisture. For Rujuta, exercise is a part of life. “Nothing too much, nothing too little, but something that I log in week by week. And I ensure that as a working woman, I am done with my exercise before 9 am every single day,” she said.

Avoid skincare videos

It’s important to be aware, but it’s equally essential to avoid misleading videos. Rujuta said, “I do not watch any video that says skincare routine. I don’t fall for anything that says anti-ageing or look 20 years younger than your age. So that’s how I have maintained good skin for as long as I have lived, at least till now.”

Her video serves as a reminder that skincare begins within and reflects on the outside. The lifestyle choices you make today shape how you look and feel. Also, skincare doesn’t need to burn a hole in your pocket.
