Apple’s next-generation Ultra smartwatch is set to offer cutting-edge features and added durability. As we wait for an official confirmation about its existence, a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now claims that the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 might include a blood pressure monitoring feature and support for sending texts via satellite, similar to the latest iPhones.

In a new report on Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, citing internal sources, has confirmed that Apple will add support for satellite messaging and a blood pressure monitor in next year's Watch Ultra 3. Initially limited to emergency messages, the satellite connectivity feature has been expanded in iOS 18 to allow sending texts to anyone, even in remote locations.

However, the addition of blood pressure monitoring would be a major step forward in Apple Watch's health data tracking capabilities. Currently, the Apple Watch series devices already provide heart rate monitoring, ECG readings, and fall detection. However, the first iteration of this feature isn’t expected to give precise systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings. Instead, it will focus on summarized blood pressure readings and warn users about possible hypertension risks.

Gurman also states that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will come with MediaTek modems instead of the current Intel ones. These new modems reportedly will include support for 5G Redcap for advanced connectivity. We can expect the Watch Ultra 3 to launch in September 2025 alongside the next iPhone series.
