Earlier in June this year, Apple introduced its latest iOS 18 update alongside macOS Sequoia and other Apple operating systems used on its multiple devices. The Cupertino-based tech giant had also promised multiple Apple Intelligence (AI) features during the unveiling. However, with the gradual rollout of Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18, Apple now faces a challenge to develop major iOS 19 features, which could result in delayed and staggered feature rollouts in the next cycle as well.
Apple’s iOS 19 major AI features could be delayed: Key details
According to a recent tweet from Apple analyst Mark Gurman, Apple’s iOS 19 rollout is expected to be significantly delayed. While iOS 19 features are expected to be unveiled at the June 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), the rollout of major features of the upcoming iOS update may be delayed due to the staggered iOS 18 rollout.
Reportedly, a big part of the delay has been the slow or gradual release of multiple Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18. Apple recently dropped some interesting AI features with the latest 18.2 update. However, with iOS 18.3 still in the works and iOS 18.4 set to launch in the coming months, which is expected to bring the revamped Siri, Apple has a lot on its plate before iOS 19’s development takes the front seat.
As a result, certain iOS 19 features with new Apple Intelligence additions could reportedly be delayed, and hence we can expect them to roll out during the first half of 2026. However, we don't expect the stable releases to be delayed, as the iOS 19 is tipped to release in fall 2025, potentially around mid-September when the next iPhones are launched.
