Apple has introduced the 2025 Black Unity Collection to mark Black History Month. The collection includes a Black Unity Sport Loop for Apple Watch, a Unity Rhythm watch face, and iPhone and iPad wallpapers. The company is supporting global organizations that promote creativity and community engagement as part of this initiative.
Price and availability
The Black Unity Sport Loop is priced at Rs 4,500 and is available for order online from Apple’s website. It will be available in Apple Store locations starting this week. The band is offered in 42mm and 46mm sizes and is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra models (46mm band only). The Unity Rhythm watch face and wallpapers will be available in an upcoming software update.
Features
The Black Unity Sport Loop features a custom-woven pattern that integrates the Pan-African flag colours—black, green, and red. The band’s design creates a lenticular effect, shifting colours dynamically based on movement.
The Unity Rhythm watch face displays numerals formed by interwoven red, green, and yellow threads. When a user raises their wrist, the design transforms from abstract strokes into digits. The watch face includes an hourly and half-hourly chime feature.
The Unity Rhythm wallpapers for iPhone and iPad feature lettering that spells “Unity,” changing orientation when the device is locked or unlocked. These wallpapers require iPhone Xs or later and compatible iPad models.
Apple has provided grants to organisations including the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, Battersea Arts Centre, Music Forward Foundation, Art Gallery of New South Wales, and the National Museum of African American Music to support creativity and cultural initiatives.
