Snapshot AI
  • Dhurandhar 2 nears 6 lakh advance ticket sales pre-release
  • Preview shows alone sold 3.40 lakh tickets, a rare Bollywood feat
  • Film's advance sales may hit 7 lakh, challenging records

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 is rewriting the rules of box office momentum even before its official release which is on 19th March. The film has already seen a phenomenal success in advance booking, with movie ticket sales rapidly approaching the 6 lakh mark across the cinema chains. Early trends also suggest that the Dhurandhar 2 The revenge has struck a strong chord with audiences, driven by massive hype and strong recall from its predecessor.

The advance booking numbers show a rare kind of frenzy usually reserved for only the biggest event films. Major chains like cinemas PVR INOX and Cinepolis have reported massive traction, indicating that the film is not just opening well, but could potentially dominate the box office in its first few days.

What stands out even more is the performance of preview shows. Starting from 5 pm onward, preview screenings alone have already sold close to 3.40 lakh tickets. This is an unusually high number for a Bollywood film and signals extraordinary audience anticipation. Including both previews and regular day one bookings, Dhurandhar 2 has already crossed approximately 5.90 lakh ticket sales in advance.

Industry estimates suggest that these numbers could easily cross the 7 to 7.50 lakh range by the time the first official show begins. If that happens, the film will enter a league of its own in terms of pre-release buzz and box office readiness.

However, while these figures are impressive, the all-time day one advance booking record in Bollywood is still held by Pathaan, which sold around 5.45 lakh tickets. Interestingly, trade analysts believe that Dhurandhar 2 could have comfortably surpassed that benchmark if it did not have preview shows included in its tally.

Looking at the broader picture, the ultimate benchmark remains Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which achieved around 6.50 lakh ticket sales in advance back in 2017. That film set a gold standard for box office openings, and Dhurandhar 2 now seems poised to challenge similar territory.

With such staggering pre-release numbers, the film is gearing up for what could be a thunderous opening day. The kind of traction it has generated points toward not just a strong opening weekend, but potentially a sustained run if word of mouth supports the hype.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 features a powerful ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. With scale, star power, and audience curiosity all aligning, the film appears set to ignite a fresh wave of box office hysteria.

All eyes are now on whether Dhurandhar 2 can convert this massive advance momentum into record-breaking collections once it hits theatres.
