Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has shared a series of updates on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting on the company’s strong performance and rapid progress in AI. The tweets followed Microsoft’s latest earnings announcement and offered a closer look at how the tech giant is evolving across business and consumer fronts.
“It’s been a busy few weeks,” Nadella wrote, before highlighting key developments that show Microsoft’s deepening focus on AI. He noted that Microsoft is making major strides in AI model performance, saying it’s “doubling every six months” thanks to advances in pre-training, inference, and systems design. Azure, Microsoft’s cloud platform, plays a central role here as the “infrastructure layer for AI,” optimized from data centers and silicon to software and models.
On the enterprise side, Nadella pointed to strong momentum for Microsoft 365 Copilot—an AI-powered assistant for workplace apps. “Microsoft 365 Copilot is now being used by hundreds of thousands of customers across industries,” he said, adding that usage has tripled compared to last year.
He also mentioned a new tool called "Researcher" coming to Microsoft 365, designed to help users dig deeper into topics and streamline work even more.
Turning to consumer products, Nadella revealed that Microsoft’s ad revenue has crossed $20 billion in the past year—a major milestone he joked could “almost get overlooked” at Microsoft. LinkedIn continues to grow steadily, with double-digit growth in membership.
There’s more good news from the gaming world too. Following the release of the Minecraft movie, weekly active users for the game jumped 75% year-over-year. Nadella added with a nod to the game’s iconic design, “Yes, blocks can be stars.”
With AI deeply integrated across products like Bing, Edge, and the Copilot app, Nadella made it clear: Microsoft is doubling down on building the future with AI at its core.
