Adobe has announced a major update to Adobe Express at its MAX London 2025 conference, introducing a suite of new AI-powered tools for video and animation. The features available on both web and mobile are designed to make it easier for users to create dynamic content, generate background footage, and maintain brand consistency across assets. With tools like Clip Maker, Dynamic Animation, and Generate Similar, Adobe is positioning Express as a one-stop solution for both creative professionals and business users.
New video and animation capabilities
The highlight of the update is the new Clip Maker tool, which uses AI to automatically transform long-form video content, such as podcasts or demos, into short, shareable clips. The tool identifies key moments, adds captions, and optimises video format for different social platforms.
Another addition is Generate Video, powered by Adobe Firefly’s video model. It allows users to create custom b-roll and background footage using text and image prompts, with a focus on generating content that is safe for commercial use.
For creators aiming to polish their audio, Enhance Speech offers one-tap removal of background noise. The Video Self-Record tool lets users record videos directly within Adobe Express, making it easier to add personal messages or tutorials to projects.
Adobe has also introduced Drop Zone for seamless clip sequencing and Scene View for easier batch-editing and rearranging of video segments. A Vimeo integration now enables direct publishing from Express to the platform.
In the animation space, the new Dynamic Animation feature adds physics-based motion effects like “Wobble” and “Wind” to static elements, bringing still images to life.
Tools for brand consistency and faster content generation
In addition to video tools, Adobe Express has introduced Generate Similar, which allows users to instantly create a cohesive collection of branded assets from a single image. It uses Firefly models to ensure the output is suitable for commercial use. The update also includes 30+ new filters, powered by Photoshop’s imaging technology, to help users refine the look of their content without switching apps.
Availability and pricing
All new features are now available on Adobe Express for web. Scene View, Enhance Speech, Dynamic Animation, Video Self-Record, and the new image filters are accessible on both web and mobile. Adobe Express remains free for new users, while Creative Cloud subscribers get full access to premium features at no additional cost.
