12 new gods, 7 new maps and more: Age of Mythology Retold's Immortal Pillars expansion arrives

Real-time strategy game Age of Mythology Retold has got its first expansion pack (DLC). Titled ‘Immortal Pillars’, the first Age of Mythology Retold DLC adds 12 new gods, a 9-level campaign and 7 new maps.

“Command divine powers, lead mythical creatures, and build majestic cities as you experience a rich tapestry of Chinese culture and mythology. From its captivating deities to its intricate landscapes, Immortal Pillars expands your strategic possibilities and immerses you in a vibrant, mythological world,” the developers said in an announcement post.

If you already have a personal copy of Age of Mythology: Retold Premium Edition, then you won’t be charged for the Immortal Pillars DLC and can play it for free.

Age of Mythology Retold: Immortal Pillars DLC content

The Immortal Pillars DLC brings 12 new gods to the RTS game. These include Fuxi, Shennong, Nüwa, Gonggong, Zhurong, and more. Each god comes with unique god powers and mythological units. For example, Zhurong is the God of Fire and Summer with a Myth Unit called Zhuque. Zhurong’s god power is Blazing Prairie, which burns everything in the targeted region.

The Age of Mythology Retold DLC also brings a 9-level campaign inspired by Chinese mythology. Some of the Mythical Units to be added as part of the Immortal Pillars expansion have creatures like the Yazi, Qiongqi, Taotie, Taowu and more. Each Mythical Unit has the potential to turn the tide in the game. The DLC also adds 7 new maps featuring “diverse biomes inspired by China’s iconic landscapes”.
