Lakshya had dropped the opening game, but rallied behind to win the match. Lakshya sen wins 19-21, 21-15, 21-12

The next few minutes will be crucial as the shuttle is being changed. Chou takes the next point as he once again employs to cross court smash, which Lakshya returns but it falls wide. IND 18-19 TPE (Game 1)

However, Lakshya takes one more point and is now in the lead. IND 16-15 TPE (Game 1)

India at Olympics 2024 live: Things are getting difficult for Lakshya as Chou Chen extends his lead to 14-9. There have been some powerful smashes from his end, which Lakshya is finding hard to return.

However, Lakshya breaks the service and then takes another point, with an inch perfect smash, dropping the shuttle a bit far from Chou's reach, who manages to connect but the shuttle hits the net.

This is India's first win against Australia at Olympics since 1972.

India at Olympics 2024 live: The second quarter is underway in the exciting Pool B encounter between India and Australia.

Abhishek broke the deadlock in the 12th minute of the opening quarter and Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner a minute later to double India's advantage.

However, Australia managed to score a goal in this quarter with Thomas Craig getting his name on the scoresheet. The goal came after Manpreet gave Australia a penalty corner while trying to defend at the mouth of the Indian goal. The penalty corner was not injected properly, but smart work between the injector and his team led to a goal. IND 2-1 AUS (28')

India at Olympics 2024 live: Manu Bhaker is killing it in the women's 25m pistol qualification rapid round. She scores a total of 98 points in Series 3 and her overall total moves to 590-24x.

Meanwhile, the qualification in the women's 25m pistol is over and Manu Bhaker has finished second and moved into the medal match.

Esha Singh, the second Indian participating in the event, fails to qualify after finishing 18th. She accumulates a total of 581-17x.

Manu has started her rapid round in the women's 25m air pistol qualification. She scores a perfect 100 in Series 1, follows it up with a 98 in Series 2. This is some sensational stuff from Manu, who has already bagged two Olympic medals in this edition.

Moments later Sreejesh is once again put to the test and the Indian goalie stands tall. He dives and sends the ball wide of the post, making a couple of excellent saves in a span of one minute. IND 0-0 AUS (8')

India at Olympics 2024 live: India build early pressure as Mandeep controls an aerial delivery by Harmanpreet on the edge of the striking circle, takes the ball inside and attempts to push it inside the goal but it blocked by the Australian keeper. India had another chance on the rebound but the referee calls for a free-hit to Australia after a stick tackle.

Moments later Jarmanpreet whacks the ball from the flank inside the striking circle and finds an Indian shirt, who is unmarked. However, he fails to control the ball as Australia avert an early danger. IND 0-0 AUS (4')

India at Olympics 2024 live: India get the ball rolling against Australia in the final Pool B encounter. The first quarter is underway and India have so far maintained ball possession, using the area very wisely.

However, Australia being Australia snatch the possession but fail to hold it for long. IND 0-0 AUS (2')

India at Olympics 2024 live: In about 20 minutes Harmanpreet Singh and Co. will take the field against Australia in the final Pool B hockey encounter.

India have so far won twice (New Zealand, Ireland), played a draw (Argentina), and lost one (Belgium).

India at Olympics 2024 live: Meanwhile, Anant Singh Naruka's mishits in Round 2 of the men's skeet qualification has pushed him down the ladder as he currently languishes at the bottom in the 25th position.

Three more rounds remaining so we shouldn't lose our hope.

However, the team has shown massive signs of improvement if we take the 2-0 victory against Ireland, as compared to their previous matches.

The unit did endure a tough 1-2 loss against Belgium on Day 6, we hope they return to winning ways and stun Australia in their final Pool B encounter before advancing to the knockouts.
