Drag Performance at Paris Olympics sparks controversy

On July 28, C Spire, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the US, announced its decision to pull all advertisements from the Paris Olympics 2024 following the controversial opening ceremony. The event, which took place on July 27, featured drag queens and transgender individuals in a parody of Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper,' sparking widespread outrage.

C Spire expressed its disapproval in a post on X: "We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics."

In the opening ceremony's portrayal of religious and historical figures has drawn condemnation from religious leaders and politicians worldwide, labeling it as an 'anti-Christian' display.

Marion Maréchal, a conservative French politician and member of the European Parliament, also voiced her discontent. She cautioned foreign spectators, stating that this divisive exhibition did not reflect the views of the French people.

"To all the Christians of the world who are watching the Paris 2024 ceremony and felt insulted by this drag queen parody of the Last Supper, know that it is not France that is speaking but a left-wing minority ready for any provocation," she declared.
