The selectors will meet at the BCCI headquarters at 1 PM (IST) in Mumbai to select India's Test squad for the tour of England, News18 have reported.

As per ANI, KL Rahul is not considered as the next captain due to his age. The squad is likely to be announced on May 24.

Sai Sudharsan is likely to get selected for the India squad for the tour of England as per Cricbuzz. Sai has been sensational in the ongoing IPL 2025 and had a good domestic season as well.

As per Indian Express, Mohammed Shami is likely to miss the tour of England due to workload management.

“Shami is bowling four overs in IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad, but the board and selectors don’t know whether he can bowl more than 10 overs in a day. Tests in England may demand longer spells from the pacers, and we can’t take chances," a source in BCCI told The Indian Express.

A report from Cricbuzz suggests that KL Rahul will open the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Shubman Gill will bat at number 4, replacing Virat Kohli, a move which could boost Gill's career.

As per Cricbuzz, Karun Nair is likely to get selected in the squad of India for the tour of England. He scored 863 runs in nine Ranji Trophy games with four centuries.

Ayush Mhatre of the Chennai Super Kings and Vaibhav Suryavanshi of the Rajasthan Royals have been called up for the upcoming tour of England. They will play in the U-19 squad of India.

India squad announcement for the Test series against England was scheduled to be announced earlier by the Ajit Agarkar-led committee but was postponed after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's retirement.

As per PTI, either Shubman Gill or Jasprit Bumrah will be replacing Rohit Sharma as the captain of the India cricket team in Test cricket. It will be cleared once the squad is announced.

Reports suggest that Arshdeep Singh might get his first Test call-up by the Indian cricket team for the series in England. The conditions will suit the left-arm pacer.
