Kolkata Knight Riders have won the match against Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets. Phil Salt and Shreyas Iyer paved the way for this victory with a splendid partnership for third wicket.
Kolkata Knight Riders started off their innings in style scoring 22 runs of the first over by Shemar Joseph. However, the flow of runs was checked as KKR lost 2 wickets within three overs with Narine and Raghuvanshi getting out early in the chase.
Salt Assault
Phil Salt continued with his assault as KKR lost two quick wickets to maintain the scoring rate of the team while chasing 162 against the Lucknow Super Giants. Barring few edges, Salt was in full control of his shots and he continued hitting boundaries throughout his innings. He was also involved in over 100-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer of only 66 balls. Salt remained not out at 89 of 47 balls as he guides KKR to victory with a boundary.
Earlier in the first innings, Lucknow Super Giants finished their innings at 161/7 in their 20 overs against the Kolkata Knight Riders. LSG were put into bat after KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss. Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda got out early in the innings. Badoni was promoted up the order and came to join Rahul at number four. Rahul and Badoni tried to place the innings till Rahul got out pulling Russell on 39. Marcus Stoinis tried to play big shots but he too got out early on 10. Badoni tried to play some big shots but he got out on 29 in another setback for the LSG.
Pooran’s brave effort
Nicholas Pooran walked in the middle after Stoinis got out with his team in trouble. He gradually placed his innings and started shifting gears and playing his shots from seventeenth over. Barring a few edges, Pooran looked completely in control of his shots to make 45 of 31 balls and steer Super Giants to a fighting total against KKR.
