It is too boring to imagine fashion categorised and boxed, but it is always exciting to see boundaries blur and merge between brands and designers for unexpected creative creations. 2025 saw it in plenty, whether with new partnerships like Balenciaga x Puma or seasoned collaborations between Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami. The limited-edition collections made noise, and for the right reasons. Here are the top fashion collaborations of 2025 you didn’t see coming…

Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami

Two decades after their debut launch, Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami announced their most recent partnership, Artycapucines VII. The collection features eleven “highly limited-edition” versions of Louis Vuitton’s Capucines bag. Murakami’s work is known for its colourful, playful style, and this one adds to the energy. Each bag is a delicious creation resembling an art sculpture, making it one for the keeps.

Prabal Gurung x Zeelool

Prabal Gurung’s debut eyewear collection with Zeelool seamlessly blends his high-fashion style with the brand’s wearable, affordable designs. This recent collaboration offers a chic range of styles that are versatile, from elegant to moody, and draws inspiration from famous Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren.

Balenciaga x Puma

This collaboration beautifully blends functional sportswear with distinctive fashion, and the new shoe styles are a contemporary take on some of the most popular Puma classics. It features a revamped version of the Speedcat, first released in 1999, which was created for Formula 1 drivers, now called ‘Destroyed Speedcat’. There’s also a slip-on variant and the Balenciaga x Puma Ballerina. The ready-to-wear line includes sweatsuits, tracksuits, hoodies, T-shirts, shorts, and more.

Paul Smith x Barbour

The popular British designer has introduced a 23-piece collection with the classic British brand Barbour. Unsurprisingly, Paul has played around with Barbour’s countryside style, reinventing his signature jackets, knits, tees, and accessories. It’s a fun take that includes unconventional colours, patchwork, and Friesian cow motifs. The chic collection is every bit delightful and versatile.

Ariana Grande x Swarovski

The capsule collection is meant for the holiday season and combines the brilliance of old Hollywood glamour with romantic elegance. It’s festive perfection, and features statement pieces that are head-turning and simply stunning. The jewellery can be worn well beyond the party season for its timeless appeal.

Jimmy Choo x Conner Ives

For a winter that feels fierce and stylish, Jimmy Choo and Conner Ives have collaborated to create the most impressive footwear. Inspired by zebra and cheetah prints, the collection features everything from trendy T-bar mules to knee-grazing heeled boots. The chic pieces are meant to make you stand out wherever you go.

Nike x Skims

This has been a debut line most didn’t expect, but considering the similar values and aesthetics, it’s a match made in heaven. Prioritising comfort, functionality, and style, it’s a line that is meant to make women feel confident, feminine, and strong. This collab has seven collections and 58 silhouettes that offer a range of styles that can be used to create diverse looks.
