Team India is all set to engage in a five-match series against Australia in Down Under and it is anticipated to be a gripping one. India head into the contest after enduring a shocking whitewash at home against New Zealand, which also had major repercussions in the World Test Championship (WTC) final race. India, who were at the top of the WTC standings, have slipped to second and are now in danger to miss out from a top-two finish.
Team India arrived in the country in two batches and going by the reports the preparations have already begun. Meanwhile, Australian media have also started building the hype and have adopted a more desi approach. Major Dailies in Australia had bold Hindi and Punjabi fonts with Virat Kohli's photo all over.
Both Hindi and Punjabi fonts were used in The Adelaide Advertiser with texts such as "yugo ki ladai (Fight for the ages)" written in Hindi. A user had shared a photo of The Daily Telegraph on X, which had similar texts.

There are plenty of issues, which India need to address ahead of the series opener in Perth on November 22. The number one among them being the opener conondrum as skipper Rohit Sharma is expected to miss the match to be present for the birth of his second child. If that is the case the management will have to decide between Abhimanyu Easwaran and KL Rahul. Both the batters were part of the unofficial Test but failed to find their foot. Easwaran accumulated a total of 36 runs in four innings, while Rahul managed 14 in two.
Apart from this, India need to win four out of the five matches to make a direct entry to the WTC finals. If India fail to do so the team will then have to rely on other results to decide their fate in the WTC final race.
