Suella Braverman's removal from the position of Home Secretary marks the second time a Prime Minister has requested her departure.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak sacked interior minister Suella Braverman on November 13 following her comments about the police’s handling of a pro-Palestinian march.

This isn't the first time she has made controversial remarks in her career. Here are the top 5 controversial statements Braverman has made:

1. On November 4, she claimed that those sleeping on the streets are only doing so because it is a "lifestyle choice". Taking to X, she wrote, "The British people are compassionate. We will always support those who are genuinely homeless. But we cannot allow our streets to be taken over by rows of tents occupied by people, many of them from abroad, living on the streets as a lifestyle choice.

2. In an interview with Sky News, in April, Braverman said British-Pakistani men are part of grooming gangs that pursue, drug, rape, and harm vulnerable English girls.

3. In an interview with ITV in September she claimed that "in many instances" asylum seekers pretend to be gay to get "special treatment" and stay in the UK.

4. Recently, she was criticised after she called the arrival of asylum seekers in boats from across the English Channel as "the invasion on our southern coast".

5. In October last year, speaking at the Tory Party Conference Braverman said it was her "dream" to watch a plane of asylum seekers take off for Rwanda before Christmas.

Suella Braverman's removal from the position of Home Secretary is the second time a Prime Minister has requested her departure. In October last year, during Liz Truss's brief term as Prime Minister, Braverman was compelled to resign after sending an official document from her personal email to a Member of Parliament, constituting a breach of ministerial rules.
