South Korean online game developer and supplier Nexon is planning an initial public offering, but the timing and value of the listing have not been determined, the company said on Friday.

"We are preparing for a public listing. But we have nothing to say about where and when we will seek the IPO, and how big it will be," the Nexon spokeswoman told Reuters.

There has been speculation in financial markets it may seek a listing in Tokyo where the company has operations, but this may have become more difficult following the deadly earthquake and tsunami in the country in March.

Nexon, founded in 1994 by current chairman Kim Jungju, has operations in South Korea, Japan, Luxemburg, and the United States.
