China's annual vehicle sales are expected to rise to 23 million units by 2015, up 27% from their level in 2010, a senior government official said on Monday, suggesting a slowdown in growth.

China's annual vehicle sales are expected to rise to 23 million units by 2015, up 27% from their level in 2010, a senior government official said on Monday, suggesting a slowdown in growth.


Su Bo, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, mentioned the forecast at a seminar being held ahead of the Shanghai Auto Show.

China's vehicle sales rose 32.4% in 2010 to 18.06 million units, securing the country's position as the world's biggest auto market for the second straight year, according to official data.
