The IMF and World Bank are holding their meetings in Washington.

While opening up the meetings, World Bank president Robert Zoellick and IMF managing director Christine Lagarde highlighted the fragile state of the world economy.

Robert Zoellick said that the world remained in a danger zone, adding that he still thought a double-dip recession for the world's major economies was unlikely.

Chrisitne Lagarde warned the path to a sustainable worldwide recovery is narrowing. She said that in 2008, we managed to avoid protectionism and kick-start recovery, but now, the world economic leaders don't have as much ammunition.
