After Bharat Dal, the govt is also considering selling rice under the bharat brand, in an effort to check retail rice prices via NAFED and NCCF. The government push to boost domestic availability through sale of FCI rice via e-auction under the Open Market Sale Scheme has not received the desired impact. So to ensure Rice availability at an affordable price the rice sale directly to consumer at a discounted price could be on charts.
