Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, October 16, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several major development projects worth over Rs 13,400 crore. His visit will cover Srisailam and Kurnool, with projects spanning key sectors such as power, defence, petroleum, railways, roads, and industries.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “I will be in Andhra Pradesh tomorrow, 16th October. I will pray at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam.”
Visit to Srisailam
PM Modi will begin his visit to Andhra Pradesh by offering prayers at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and among the 52 Shakti Peeths. The temple is unique for housing both a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peeth within the same premises.
He will also visit the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex featuring models of four historic forts — Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri, and a central statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in deep meditation. The centre commemorates Shivaji’s 1677 visit to Srisailam.
