Wipro chairman Rishad Premji on Monday advocated speaking about mental health to break the taboo surrounding it. He also asserted that it's okay to admit not feeling like being in the best mental space from at times.
"We should relentlessly break barriers so that we talk about mental health with the same comfort we talk about our physical health. It’s ok to not be ok at times," Premji wrote on X. He also advocated mental wellbeing be taken just as seriously as physical wellness.

This isn't the first time that the Wipro boss has spoken about the importance of talking about mental health. In an older tweet, Premji wrote, "Mental health and depression is a disease like any other disease. It is incredibly important that we be there for our friends, family and colleagues especially in these difficult, isolating times."

Last year, at an event organised by All India Management Association, Rishad Premji spoke about how companies should also keep the “mental health of employees” foremost while strategising for their growth.
The Wipro chairman had made headlines earlier this year after taking almost 50 percent paycut for financial year 2023, according to a filing made to the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US.
