The Central government had projected sugar production to be at 22.5 million tons for 2016/17 that is around 11% up than the industry production estimates of 20 million tons. As per the data, as on February 20’ 2017 sugar mills in Maharashtra have produced 40.56 lakh tons of sugar compared to 65.62 lakh tons produced during the same time last year.By: Skymetweather.com
