As per reports, The food ministry has asked Maharashtra to review the state’s sugar output estimate for 2016/17 (Oct-Sept) as the numbers are sharply lower than the last year output and ISMA’s estimates. The cane department in Maharashtra has pegged the state’s sugar output in 2016/17 at 5.0 million tons, while the Indian Sugar Mills Association has estimated production much higher at 6.3 million tons.By: Skymetweather.com
