Vir Das won an International Emmy for his Netflix special.

Vir Das is making headlines right now and for all the good reasons. The stand-up comic and actor won his first International Emmy for his Netflix special “Vir Das: Landing” and made the whole country swell with pride. Currently he is on a “MindFool” tour that will feature him performing all over India.

After managing to perform and pulling off a successful show despite a technical snag in Bengaluru, the “Delhi Belly” actor shared a hilarious conversation that he had with the airport security staff. He had his award in his luggage and one of the officers asked him if it was an idol with sharp edges. The comedian clarified it’s an award.

“Iss me koi sharp point hai (Is it sharp)?” the officer questioned. To which Das replied, “Sir, sharp nahi hai. Uska pankh hai (It’s not sharp, the award has a wing).”

He then proceeded to show the award to the officer and the latter congratulated him. “Accha hai. Badhai ho. Kya karte ho (This is nice. Congratulations. What do you do)?” the officer asked. “Comedian sir. Joke sunata hu,” Das replied.

“Officer: joke ke liye puruskar milte hain? Me: mujhko bhi ajeeb laga sir. We both laugh. I put it back in the bag. I head to my flight," he concluded.

Needless to say, the post went viral with over a million views and several reactions from social media users who were amused.

“You bring smiles everywhere, even at security checks. Congratulations, Vir,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “Hilarious 'pointed' exchange...that guy will not forget you for a long time!”

“You are amazing Vir. Have a wonderful career ahead,” a third user remarked. “Loving these anecdotes,” a fourth user wrote.

Meanwhile, Das’s fans in Bengaluru hailed him for not “walking out” like US comedian Trevor Noah even after a technical glitch occurred at his 5 pm show in the city. The comedian was welcomed by thundering applause by his fans, exactly after a year of not being able to perform in the ‘Silicon Valley of India’.
