Travel influencer Daniel Goz faced backlash online after claiming he was "stranded" in Singapore due to flight disruptions caused by the Iran War. Reports later revealed that economy class seats were available, but he refused to book them, the New York Post reported. The YouTuber posted a video on March 4 called “There Are No Flights Left, explaining his journey from Singapore to Europe.

Goz, popularly known as Nonstop Dan, is a Swedish aviation YouTuber with over 1 million subscribers. He first claimed there were no flights available, but upon checking options, economy seats were found.

Many viewers reacted negatively, saying Goz appeared insensitive during a time when many travellers were facing flight disruption due to the Middle East crisis.

One user said, “Absolutely hilarious that Dan would rather wait two weeks in Singapore without seeing his family rather than dealing with the horror of travelling economy .”

Another wrote, “Guy has too much ego even to consider flying economy in this situation.”

A third user added, “You are not stranded in Singapore. You have the option to rebook on SQ or another airline to another destination outside the Middle East conflict zone. Those who are really stranded are passengers who are unable to leave the UAE and Qatar.”

Responding to criticism, Goz said the seats cost more than $1500 and could be booked quickly.

"Lots of you saying, 'just fly economy!' and I totally get that. The pricing example I show on screen in the video is economy (should've been clearer about that), and as you can see there's barely anything available for the next two weeks. The few remaining economy seats are going for $1500+ per person one-way and even those will be booked up soon," he said. "I mentioned premium cabins because that's what this channel usually covers."

"The bigger point of this video, that global aviation capacity has been massively disrupted and millions of travellers, families, students, people on work trips, will feel ripple effects, still stands."
