Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, who was rushed to a hospital in Mexico City after getting ill from a possible stroke, told his wife that he was feeling strange but put off visiting a hospital until she insisted on it, TMZ reported.

The 73-year-old fell ill after he gave a speech at the World Business Forum in Mexico City. He reportedly told his wife he was "feeling strange" and then started exhibiting symptoms that alarmed her. That's when she insisted that he visit a hospital.

As per the TMZ report, the Apple co-founder who is worth $100 million, resisted, saying he would be okay, but his wife persisted and ultimately made him rush to the hospital.

While doctors are performing tests on Wozniak, a team of his staff are flying from the US to Mexico City on a private jet, to check on him and, if required, fly him back to the US for further treatment.

Steve Wozniak was integral to the creation and further development of the personal computer in the US in the 1970s, and was reportedly the mastermind behind Apple’s first computer.

He had also raised his voice urging a pause on giant AI experiments. In March, Wozniak together with Tesla chief Elon Musk, Stability AI CEO Emad Mostaque, and over 1,300 other signatories wrote an open letter urging a pause on training systems more powerful than OpenAI's GPT-4.

The scientist and entrepreneur cited the risk of creating nonhuman minds that could eventually outsmart humans and believed that AI labs have become locked in an “out-of-control” race to develop “ever more powerful digital minds” that cannot be understood or controlled even by their creators.
