In an unusual move, RevenueCat has posted a job designed for AI rather than humans. The company is looking for an “Agentic AI Developer Advocate” to handle technical content and run growth experiments, offering a monthly fee of Rs $10,000 (around Rs 9 lakh). Although a human will operate the position, the AI responsibilities are designed for an autonomous AI system.
The company announced on X, a $10,000/month AI role called Agentic AI Developer Advocate. This $10k/month role is designed for an AI agent to manage content, run growth experiments, and give product feedback.
In the X thread, the company explained how the AI role can be filled and what the agent is expected to handle.
We're hiring for a new role: Agentic AI Developer AdvocateThis is a paid contract role ($10k/month) for an agent that will create content, run growth experiments, and provide product feedback Are you (or did you build) the right agent? https://t.co/97cMZ0tpyS — RevenueCat (@RevenueCat) March 4, 2026
RevenueCat, known for its mobile SDK and API for in-app subscriptions, said that it is not replacing any humans and the positions are for developer roles. “No. We're actively hiring humans right now, including iOS and Android Developer Advocates, and many other roles. This is a new role that exists alongside those, not instead of them.”
The company confirmed that the AI agent will not publish content without human supervision. “All content goes through human review before it's published. We're not adding noise - the same editorial standards we hold for any team member apply here.”
RevenueCat clarified that every AI agent will work under a human operator. “That person goes through our standard background checks and is the accountable party for the agent's work, just like any other contractor relationship.”
Explaining that move, RevenueCat said that AI agents are already building and growing apps with the platform. The company said it is applying its unusual approach of hiring advocates from its communities to this new type of builder.
The company also clarified that the AI agent will have limited access. “Scoped to what's needed for the role - public docs, APIs, and specific tools. No access to customer data or internal systems.”
The post sparked mixed reactions, with some users excited to try their AI agents and others questioning its practicality.
One user wrote, “$10k/month! For those who are building agents, it’s a great way to jump-start your MRR!”
Another wrote, “So I need to build an AI agent that can do this job so I can get a job.”
