Aravind Srinivas welcomed the idea, saying it would be an honour to have Nikhil Kamath on board.

Perplexity AI co-founder Aravind Srinivas recently appeared on WTF Online, a podcast hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. During their discussion, Kamath made an unexpected proposal—he expressed a genuine interest in interning at Perplexity AI for three months, even offering to work for free.

Towards the end of their conversation, Kamath asked, “Do you think it might be possible for me to intern at Perplexity, work for maybe three months, free of charge?” Srinivas initially responded with amusement, stating that Kamath was far too accomplished for such a role. However, Kamath insisted that his request was sincere, explaining that he wanted to immerse himself in AI and felt he was not learning enough in his current routine.

Srinivas welcomed the idea, saying it would be an honour to have Kamath on board. Kamath, in turn, jokingly added that he might show up at Perplexity within the next 30 days to pester Srinivas daily.

During the conversation, Srinivas also reflected on his brief internship in Bengaluru, where he had spent three weeks working in Koramangala. Despite being in one of the city’s busiest hubs, he admitted to barely exploring the area, as he was entirely focused on work. Looking back, he felt he had missed an opportunity to experience the city.

However, he had no regrets about avoiding Bengaluru’s traffic, which he remembered as being bad even during his time there. “I hear it’s even worse now,” he remarked, adding that staying in and working might have been a wise choice.

One aspect of Bengaluru that did leave an impression on him was the weather. Coming from Chennai, he found the city’s climate far more comfortable. “The weather was definitely better than Chennai,” he noted.
