On Monday, when the chairman and managing director of Raymond Group, Gautam Singhania, announced his separation from his wife Nawaz Modi Singhania, around the same time, she shared a video on social media of her participating in a Diwali puja with her in-laws at their apartment.
"Ever blessed to have my in-laws' unstinted support, love, kindness, and help, at these and all times," the 53-year-old fitness coach and author wrote on Instagram. "Here on Diwali doing pujas followed by dinner with them at their apartment, on this highly auspicious, powerful God-sent time of year."
Apart from the news of the separation, on which Nawaz Modi Singhania is yet to comment, she made headlines after a video surfaced on social media in which she claimed to have been mistreated by her husband's staff and was refused entry to one of their properties in Thane. Nawaz Modi Singhania said that she was invited to a party organised by Gautam Singhania but his staff refused to let her through the gates.
"We are at the Thane gate, JK Gram, for a party that I was invited to and now I am stopped from entering. The strongman, Chandrakant here, who handles the cops and everyone else, and the rest of the gate people are stopping me at the gate," Nawaz Modi Singhania said in the now-viral video. "This (the video) is going to now viral with everything that I have been through and kept quiet about all of this time."

The daughter of a well-known lawyer, Nawaz Modi Singhania also studied law but opened a gym in a tony neighbourhood. She was reported to have dated the Raymond boss for eight years before the marriage in 1999.
Separated after being together for 32 years
Gautam Singhania and Nawaz Modi Singhania had been together for 32 years and have two children -- Niharika and Nisa. In a statement, the Raymond boss said that although they were parting ways, he and his now-estranged wife have always been a source of strength to each other.
"This Diwali is not going to be the same as many in the past," he wrote on X. "It is my belief that Nawaz and I will pursue different paths from here on..."
