Mumbai security guard becomes podcast lead after chance meeting: 'All you need is hunger to learn'

A Mumbai-based entrepreneur and financial content creator has shared a story that is winning hearts online—how a chance conversation in a parking lot changed the life of a security guard who is now leading podcast production for him.

Kushal Lodha, who runs a popular podcast series, posted on X about Aniket Katkar, whom he met two years ago when Katkar was working as a security guard in Lodha’s building. “He was a security guard in my building two years ago. And today, he leads the production of all podcasts that we shoot. He’s Aniket Katkar,” Lodha wrote.

Recalling their first interaction, Lodha said Katkar approached him with a simple request: “Mujhe videos record karne ka bohot shauk hai. Kya mein aapse mil sakta hu?” (I’m very passionate about videography. Can I meet you?). Lodha agreed to meet him the next day and offered him an opportunity to shoot his podcasts.

From there, Katkar taught himself everything -- camera handling, connecting microphones to audio mixers, and maintaining production quality. “Guess what -- he learnt by himself how to record videos, how to connect mics with the audio mixer, and ensure the production quality is not compromised. Fast forward to today, there’s not a single shoot where he’s not present—and he talks to all the guests freely,” Lodha wrote.

Lodha concluded his post with a message on learning and success: “You don’t need fancy degrees or credentials to do something! All you need is hunger and an attitude to learn. No one can stop you from becoming successful. If a person’s learning attitude ends, his old age starts to begin!”

The post quickly went viral, drawing praise for Katkar’s determination and Lodha’s willingness to give him a chance. One user commented, “Really appreciate that you have given him the chance to prove.” Another wrote, “A very motivating story.
