Getting fired, in any profession, is not an enjoyable experience as it leaves the professional's future in doubt and forces a person to look into the next immediate available option to try and restore his/her career.
Recently, a woman marketing manager in Spain set a new example of how to react after losing a job by creating a multilingual video resume, which showcased her skills and helped present herself in the job market.
The woman in the video-named Marta Puerto- can be seen effortlessly switching between six different languages, highlighting the different skills possessed by her such as marketing herself as a product.
This PMM from Spain got laid off so she made this video to stand out in the job market and I loveeee itttt. It's broken LinkedIn! pic.twitter.com/emnEKVe68a—(@noheeriye) March 1, 2024
The video saw a lot of responses from users. While some praised the woman for her resilience, others questioned the organisation and demanded reasons for sacking her from her role.
"This shows resilience and original thinking IMO. Always Love to see people going out of the way to help themselves," one user wrote.
"Personal brands matter. Here is an incredible application of that to secure a position. Well done!" another user wrote.
"Whoever fired her would have a lot of explaining to do," a third user wrote.
This is not the first instance, however, of an employee putting his/her creative energies to good use after getting fired from his/her job.
Recently, a female employee was hired by Google after she was fired by LinkedIn and created a video which gave details about her professional experience and also had her former colleagues give positive endorsements about her personality.
