Radhika Gupta says co-flyer Jasprit Bumrah was 'best company': 'Flight delay didn't feel bad'

Edelweiss MF's Radhika Gupta clicked a selfie with Jasprit Bumrah and shared it on X.

Edelweiss Mutual Funds CEO and MD Radhika Gupta was recently affected by a flight delay, but what made the experience less bitter was her chance encounter with cricketer Jasprit Bumrah. Gupta took to X to share that Bumrah was "the best company" on the flight.

"Genius on the field, gentleman off it," she wrote. "The flight delay didn't feel bad today, because I had the best company. Thanks for the amazing conversation, Jasprit Bumrah."

The confluence of the world of business and cricket delighted fans. Some even asked if Gupta, who is popular on social media for encouraging people to invest in SIPs, could manage to convince Bumrah for further investments.

"Awesome, Radhika. Curious what you discussed. Did you convince him for the investment?" asked one X user, while another joked, "Wow! Hope you managed to get a hold on his portfolio." Another X user asked, "So was it about investing or cricket? When two G.O.A.T. meet!"

A few, however, noted how the Edelweiss MF boss called Bumrah "a gentleman off the field" and likened it to his recent behaviour with fans and his conduct during the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan in Dubai.

"He wasn't very gentlemanly in the Asia Cup... Shameful behavior that will haunt him for the rest of his life," wrote an X user. "Good for you. Otherwise, he sulks when he is with the common man. Maybe a natural reaction," commented another user, while a third added, "He didn't pull your phone away? I think he pulls the phones only from common people."

The user was referring to a recent incident when Bumrah lost his temper while waiting in a check-in line at an airport and got into an altercation with a fan. A video of the incident went viral on social media.
