A dramatic late-night incident unfolded outside the elite Bangalore Club in central Bengaluru, where a man allegedly stripped naked during a confrontation with security staff and narrowly avoided being run over by a car. The episode, captured on video, has led to multiple police cases and renewed scrutiny of access rules at the city’s most exclusive club. The videos also went viral on social media
According to a report in The Times of India, police identified the man as Rajesh, a 55-year-old tech professional based in the United States, who was visiting Bengaluru to meet his father, A Anantharaman, a life member of the club. According to investigators, father and son had dinner at the club earlier in the week. After leaving, Rajesh realised he had forgotten his mobile phone inside and returned to retrieve it.
However, Rajesh was denied entry as he was not accompanied by his father who is also a member, a long-standing rule at the Bangalore Club. Police said this triggered a heated argument with security personnel. Officers added that Rajesh was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and became increasingly agitated after being turned away.
As the situation escalated, Rajesh was seen trying to climb the compound wall but failed to get in. Soon after, he allegedly stripped naked and created a public disturbance outside the premises. In a video that later went viral, he is seen standing in front of a car; the driver attempts to move forward, forcing Rajesh to cling to the bonnet before falling onto the road, screaming in pain.
Police said Rajesh later complained that he was assaulted by a security guard during the chaos. Club officials alerted his father, who rushed to the spot. With the help of police, Rajesh was made to wear clothes and taken away from the area.
