He underlined that as per World Health Organization (WHO), while EG.5 (Eris) has been reported from over 50 countries, the variant BA.2.86 (Pirola) is in four countries.

    According to the Ministry of Defence, on August 21, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Boys and Girls Mountaineering Expedition to Mt Thelu Peak was launched from New Delhi by DG, NCC Lt. General Gurbirpal Singh. Five officers, 17 permanent instructors, and 26 NCC Cadets (13 boys and 13 girls) from several Directorates make up the team. The team plans to climb Mt Thelu Peak by the third week of September 2023.

    Uttarakhand LIVE Update: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami meets Union Energy Minister RK Singh

    Today in New Delhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Union Energy Minister RK Singh. On this occasion, the CM requested that the Union Minister make a permanent allocation of 400-450 MW from coal-based facilities to safeguard the state's baseload in order to provide energy security and prevent power outages. The Chief Minister also thanked the Union Minister on this occasion for delivering an average of 300 megawatts of power per month from the unallocated quota from April to September 2023.
