While it is important to seek expert Vaastu advice, it is equally important to know exactly what questions to ask any Vaastu consultant. We tell you how to gain maximum benefits out of every consultation.

Moving in to a new house, setting up a commercial unit or simply remodelling your existing space requires us to tread with caution. One has to strike a right balance between aesthetics and Vaastu to retain the harmony. It is usually in times like these that one rings up a Vaastu expert. While it is encouraging that more and more people are seeking expert Vaastu advice, it is also recommended that one knows exactly what to ask. Right knowledge can result in getting all your queries answered and make your Vaastu consultation a beneficial affair.

Be curious
On consulting any Vaastu expert, first ascertain if you actually are facing any Vaastu related problems. Analyse if there is actually something amiss. If you are convinced, then proceed with consultation. You need to clarify beforehand if the expert needs to be paid for this basic advice. Once certain, there are some important things to always keep in mind. Ask your expert if a detailed Vaastu survey of the building by a professional is needed or not, should he be paid for the site visit, if yes, then what all does a site visit involve and what is the basis of calculating the entire Vaastu consultation fee. These questions will let you optimise every penny you spend on Vaastu consultation.

Watch the process
Having finalised a Vaastu expert, one has to keep a strict watch on the process. You need to check if the approach of the expert is specific to your problems or merely a standard procedure as prescribed in various Vaastu books. You need to ensure that entire process is designed in such a way that it caters very specifically to the problems that you face. The easiest option is to ask your Vastu consultant if he or she is using the 4-step Vastu method to evaluate your building. Check with the expert if a detailed scientific and accurate analysis of the building is needed, will this analysis be given as a written report, will the report define root cause of each problem and finally will the expert explain step by step the process. Make sure that everything is explained by the expert with logical reasoning.

Right remedy and follow up
While a Vaastu expert suggests various corrective steps, it is always better to clarify all the remedies that are suggested, if they involve demolition and how much would each cost. Some of the suggestions might be very costly to implement, so one needs to question the basis on which the suggestions were arrived at. You must check if there is a follow up to check if the Vaastu remedies produced the desired results or not. Most important questions to keep in mind at the end of a session is to ask the expert if he needs to be paid again for consultations relating to the same premises and who will be the contact person in case there is any further advice needed and your Vastu expert is unavailable.
