Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who launched the trailer of her film 'Sarbjit' on Thursday, decided to maintain silence over her name figuring in the Panama Papers leaks for allegedly having links with offshore entities.

When one of the reporters asked her about the Panama Paper leaks during the trailer launch of the film, she said: "The statement has been made to all of you already. Hope you all are aware about it."

The 'Panama Papers' - based on an investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and over 100 other news organisations around the world -- is a global list revealing offshore links of over 500 Indians, including megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya.

In India, The Indian Express released pages of the investigation reports, alleging among other names that Amitabh and Aishwarya were directors in companies in Panama.

Aishwarya's media adviser previously told the newspaper that the information was false.
