Babri Masjid case: SC to decide on reviving conspiracy charge against Advani, others

The Supreme Court is set to decide on Thursday whether to revive conspiracy charges against senior BJP leaders including L K Advani in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case.

The court is likely to take a call whether Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti along with more than 10 other BJP leaders should stand trial for a demolition of the 16th-century mosque by karsevaks.

They had been discharged by a court in Rae Bareli, but during its last hearing, the SC had criticised the dropping of charges.
