The Bengaluru resident had actually booked an Ola cab.

A man from Bengaluru took to Reddit to share a post about a terrifying incident that he experienced at the airport. The man, who has a user account named @jewish_cyborg claimed that a cab driver posing as an Ola driver forcefully stuffed his bags in the taxi and drove him away.

The Bengaluru resident, who had actually booked an Ola cab, had no option and took to the social media platform to write about his harrowing experience. “On my way from airport to home. Booked a (an) Ola. A guy just lifted my bags and said he was (from) Ola. After moving a bit when I told him to take the OTP. He said no this is private cab. When I told him to stop I’ll call the police he said I’ll drop at same price.

The man even asked the driver to stop but to no avail. He even increased the speed of the car as the passenger tried to open the door. The man then shared his location with his friends and family who were on a video call with him.

However, as soon as the man’s post gained traction, a Redditor started tracking his location and provided live updates in the comments section.

From 5.45 pm to 6.08 pm, the kind stranger kept a track of the vehicle and the passenger. However, the driver finally stopped and ran away as soon as the man contacted the Bengaluru police.

The man confirmed that he was safe and subsequently had shared the driver’s number with the police.

He even thanked the Reddit community and the Bengaluru police for helping him out of the bad situation. “Thank you all very much, sorry still not very functional but very grateful to you all and the Bangalore police. 112 is the best!” he wrote.
