Apple WWDC 2021 kicks off on June 7. The company will announce iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12, etc. at the June Apple event. These software updates will be rolled out to eligible iPads, Mac devices and iPhone models later this year. Ahead of the event, some key details around the expected WWDC 2021 announcements have leaked online.
Apple is likely to focus on privacy and improving the user experience via software updates this year. At WWDC 2021, the company will announce the bunch of improvements it is making in the software for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, etc.
Not many details were available of the upcoming software updates - until now. Before Apple officially announces the iPadOS and iOS 15 features, Bloomberg has reported some of the expected features making their way to your iPhone and iPad devices.
The report claims that iPadOS 15 will bring improvements in the way users manage their apps. Apple is said to revamp the home screen, allowing users to place widgets anywhere on the screen. “For the iPad, Apple plans to revamp the home screen and support the placement of widgets -- snippets of dynamic information like calendar, weather, and stocks -- anywhere on the screen. This is a commonly requested feature that will bring the iPad in line with Android rivals. The company also plans an improved multitasking system to make it easier to operate multiple apps at the same time,” the report stated.
Mark Gurman further retreated his previous report on the introduction of system-wide status for iPhone and iPad. He claims that the upcoming iPadOS and iOS 15 feature will allow users to set a status, depending on which their notifications will be handled. Users can also set an automatic reply to incoming notifications depending on the status they have set on their device. “The update will also include a larger focus on auto-replying to messages and a new design for incoming notification banners at the top of the screen,” the report added.
Apple is also likely to make some improvements in the App Tracking Transparency feature. The company is said to introduce a new control panel that provides in-depth detail on what data are being collected by each third-party app installed on a user’s device.
Apple will also announce some minor improvements to macOS 12, tvOS 15, and watchOS 8 at the Apple Event. Gurman claims that Apple will introduce improved health tracking features and "interface improvements.”
