Realme is gearing up to launch a new flagship smartphone dubbed the Realme GT 2 Pro. The upcoming device was previously spotted on the IMEI database and Realme’s website. Now, an exclusive report by 91mobiles, suggests that the Realme GT 2 Pro is expected to launch in early 2022.
91mobiles learnt from tipster Mukul Sharma that the device was already in testing and if things go as planned, the device is expected to arrive in early 2022. However, the exact timeline is yet to be confirmed, although we expect it to be in the first quarter of next year.
Moneycontrol could not independently verify the report.
Earlier last year, Realme announced a dual-flagship strategy for its new generation of flagships, which involved the launch of a performance-oriented flagship handset and a camera-focused flagship. The Realme GT 5G was touted as the company’s performance flagship, although a camera-focused premium phone was rumoured to be in the works.
Considering the rumours, the GT 2 Pro could be the company's camera-focused flagship. According to previous reports, the Realme GT 2 Pro’s price is set to hit the 60K mark. Not only will the device be the company’s most expensive smartphone yet, but it will likely compete with premium devices from Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, and Samsung.
Realme GT 2 Pro Expected SpecsThe Realme GT 2 Pro will likely be the first smartphone in the company’s line-up to use the Snapdragon 898 SoC. The device is also expected to feature an FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone could also use LPDDR5X RAM and will come with up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
For optics, the Realme GT 2 Pro will feature a 108 MP or 50 MP primary sensor. The other cameras may include an ultrawide and a telephoto shooter. We are also likely to see a 32 MP selfie camera. The phone is said to have a 5,000 mAh battery and could feature 125W fast-charging support.
