Meta is supposedly working to extend the Chat Lock feature to the web client of the app. The feature will secure chats using a secret code that will need to be entered to gain access to the web client.
Discovered by the code sleuths at WABetaInfo, the feature will lock down your chats from prying eyes and will ask you for a secret code to unlock them.

This is useful for employees who happen to share their desktops or devices with other co-workers giving them confidentiality.
This is currently in development and there is no date for release yet. The feature was rolled out last November for Android and iOS devices.

Recently, Meta partnered with the Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA) to launch a dedicated WhatsApp helpline to combat Deepfakes and other misinformation.
The helpline will let users flag AI content through a WhatsApp chatbot with support for English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu. Besides this, the MCA will set-up an independent "deepfake analysis unit" that will manage the reports.
