  • Police suspect addiction to a Korean online "love game" may have led to the tragedy.
  • A suicide note indicated deep influence from Korean culture and online gaming

Three minor sisters were found dead early Wednesday after allegedly jumping from the balcony of a ninth-floor apartment in Ghaziabad. Police are examining whether a Korean task-based online “love game,” which the girls reportedly played for years, played a role in their decision.

The victims, identified as Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12), were rushed to a hospital in Loni where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

What police have found so far

According to officers, a suicide note was recovered from the flat. While it did not name any specific application, it indicated that the girls were deeply influenced by Korean culture and online gaming habits. Officials said the sisters had reportedly stopped attending school since the Covid-19 period and spent most of their time playing the game together.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Trans-Hindon Nimish Patil said the family had raised concerns about the girls’ growing dependence on the game, which had gradually taken over their daily routine.

Family’s account and concerns

The father, Chetan Kumar, told investigators that the sisters were unwilling to give up the game despite repeated requests. He said they viewed it as central to their lives and had resisted any attempt to limit their screen time. His statement, carried by Indo-Asian News Service, highlighted how emotionally attached the girls had become to the online platform.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Atul Kumar Singh added that the sisters did nearly everything together — from eating and sleeping to playing the game — suggesting a pattern of social withdrawal.

The incident took place in a residential tower in the Sahibabad area under Teela Mor police station limits. Police received an alert around 2.15 am and found the girls had suffered fatal injuries after falling to the ground floor.

Authorities said the exact sequence of events is still being verified. Statements from family members, neighbours, and digital activity records are being examined to determine whether the online game directly influenced the tragedy. Updates have also been reported by Press Trust of India.
