Lava launches A79 smartphone at Rs 5,699

Homegrown smartphone maker Lava International Limited has added a new budget device to its range of Android handsets - the A79 - that is priced at Rs 5,699.

The Lava A79 features a 5.5-inch display and under its hood is a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The phone comes with 8 GB of internal storage with an option for expandable storage for up to 32 GB.

Powered by Android Lollipop, the phone comes with 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. It has flash on both ends.The Lava A79 draws its juice from a 2200 mAh Li-ion battery and comes in Gold and Grey colour choices.
