IFA 2019 is well underway, and smartphone manufacturers are moving quickly to cement their places in the market. Motorola has been making a few moves in the mid-range smartphone space, but none more significant as the recently announced Motorola One Zoom. The Moto One Zoom is arguably the most impressive device in the company’s line up.
Motorola’s latest offering is powered by a Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. The Motorola One Zoom runs on Android 9.0 Pie and packs a 4,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. The One Zoom sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080x2340 pixels) OLED Max Vision display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and in-display fingerprint sensor. The screen is protected by 2.5D Panada King glass, while 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the back of the device. It also comes with 128GB of expandable storage.
However, the most impressive part about the One Zoom is its quad-camera setup. At the heart of the quad-camera setup sits a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture that uses 4-in-1 pixel binning to upscale 12-megapixel shots. Beyond the primary camera, the One Zoom also gets an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and lastly, a 5-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots. Even the 25-megapixel camera on the front supports pixel binning technology.
Finally, the Motorola One Zoom is priced at $449.99 (Approx. Rs. 32,400) in the U.S. and will be available in three colour variants. We’re not sure when the Motorola One Zoom will arrive in India, but Motorola will have to rethink pricing as brands like Redmi, Realme, Lenovo, OnePlus, and Asus, all have similarly priced devices with beefier specs in this range.
